The Harappan Civilization, also known as the Indus Valley Civilization, was one of the world's earliest urban civilizations. It flourished from approximately 2600 BCE to 1900 BCE in the Indus River valley. Major cities include Harappa (Punjab, Pakistan), Mohenjo-daro (Sindh, Pakistan), Lothal (Gujarat, India), and Dholavira (Gujarat, India).

Harappan civilization had advanced town planning: grid-pattern streets, two-story brick houses, well-planned drainage system (most advanced in ancient world), granaries, and public baths.
