Explanation

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment stated that PM-DAKSH was subsumed under the PMKVY scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship from 2024–25. The reason given was overlapping training roles and avoidance of duplication. PM-DAKSH had been launched in 2020–21 for skill training of groups including SCs, OBCs, EWS, DNTs and sanitation workers, including waste pickers. The release reported 1,87,305 trained candidates and 96,162 placements for 2020–21 to 2023–24. These are figures for that specified period, not totals for the year 2026 alone.
