On which date is National Ayurveda Day now observed every year in India?

Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest systems of medicine, with roots in texts such as the Charaka Samhita and the Sushruta Samhita. The Ministry of AYUSH, created in November 2014, promotes Ayurveda along with Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy. National Ayurveda Day was introduced in 2016 to raise awareness about Ayurveda's role in preventive health and to link it with modern research. The day was first tied to Dhanteras because Lord Dhanvantari, regarded as the god of Ayurveda, is worshipped then. The 2026 national celebration was hosted in Nagpur, Maharashtra, with the theme 'Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow'. Questions on National Ayurveda Day and other health-related days appear often in competitive exams.
