The Battle of Ghaghra was fought in May 1529 between Babur and the Afghan chieftains of Bihar and Bengal (led by Mahmud Lodi and Nusrat Shah of Bengal). Babur won, consolidating Mughal authority in eastern India.

Kohima is the capital of Nagaland. The Battle of Kohima (April-June 1944) was fought between British-Indian forces and the Imperial Japanese Army. The Japanese were trying to invade India, but the Allied forces stopped them at Kohima and Imphal. This was a major turning point.

Lachit Borphukan was the commander-in-chief of the Ahom Kingdom who led the famous victory against the Mughal forces in the Battle of Saraighat (1671). He is celebrated as a great military hero of Assam.

The Battle of Saraighat was fought on the Brahmaputra River in 1671 between the Ahom Kingdom (under Lachit Borphukan) and the Mughal forces (under Ram Singh I). The Ahoms won, preserving their independence from the Mughal Empire.

The Treaty of Srirangapatna was signed in 1792, ending the Third Anglo-Mysore War. Under this treaty, Tipu Sultan had to cede half his kingdom, pay a large war indemnity, and give two of his sons as hostages to the British.
